Residential Exterior Painting
One of the most visually rewarding projects you can do is to give your home a new look with a fresh paint job. A good paint job will not only make your house the proudest on the street but will also protect your home from the elements, saving you the higher cost of extensive repairs in the future... Our Melbourne based Expert Painters can help! |
For any exterior painting job the most important step is proper surface preparation.
Exterior Painting Includes:
- Evaluate Condition:
- Examine the entire surface of your house looking for problems such as paint peeling, open weatherboards or joints, rotted wood or damp woodwork, mildew and other problems.
- Flaking Paint:
- Remove all peeling or flaking paint.
- Sanding:
- This isn’t fun, but it’s crucial to do well to achieve the best result. Sanding improves the bond between the new and old finishes.
- Prime Woodwork:
- Paint will not bond properly to bare wood. We apply an acrylic or oil-based primer to all bare wood.
- Repair Damaged Wood:
- A filler compound for larger damaged areas is used to repair any holes or damaged wood.
- Gapping:
- We gap all the joints and weatherboards insuring a lasting paint job and to protect against the elements.
- All fixtures are removed or protected
- Full clean up of all work after every day
